Preview: FSU Vs Georgia Tech Basketball: TV, Time, And More!
On Wednesday, January 3rd, 6-6 FSU will take on the 8-4 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at home. The game is at 7:00 PM and you can catch it on ACCN.
The Yellow Jackets are 1-0 in conference play, beating #7 Duke 72-68 on December 2nd. The Seminoles are 0-1 in conference play, losing to UNC on the same day. This is the 5th game in a 7 game home stretch for FSU.
Georgia Tech is coming off a hard 72-64 loss to Nevada last Sunday night on Christmas Eve. They’ve had a week break since that game to heal up and get well rested. They may have to shake off a little rust for this game against the Noles.
Key Players From Georgia Tech
Some players to watch out for from Georgia Tech is guard Miles Kelly, forward Baye Ndongo, and guard Kowacie Reeves Jr. Miles Kelly leads the team in points per game with 14.8. Baye Ndongo leads the team in rebounds, steals, and blocks with 9 rebounds, 1 steals, and 1.7 blocks per game. Kowacie Reeves Jr. averages 11.7 points per game and has played in all 12 games. FSU will need to keep these players in check in order for them to win.
Florida State is coming off a hard loss as well, losing to Lipscomb 78-75. They will try to get above .500 with a win.
The last time these two teams faced off was in last years ACC tournament, when the Yellow Jackets beat the Noles in the first round 61-60. Georgia Tech then went on to lose the next round to Pittsburgh.
ESPN analytics give FSU a 67 percent chance of winning to Georgia Tech’s 33 percent chance. I expect the Noles to give them a hard time and it should be a close one at the Tuck. Stay tuned to the Seminole Section twitter and post game article right here on seminolesection.com.
