Offensive Lineman Terrence Ferguson Commits to Florida State

Florida State continues its ransacking of the transfer portal and more specifically of the Alabama roster. The Seminoles just landed yet another transfer in Alabama offensive lineman Terrence Ferguson.

Ferguson provides a big body and powerful motor on the offensive line coming in at 6’4”and weighs 320 pounds. Ferguson was originally listed as a four-star recruit in the 2021 cycle and was listed as a four star recruit in the transfer portal rankings.

He got plenty of work in garbage time for the Tide but has little experience playing in meaningful time due to being stacked behind a unit that continuously produces NFL talent year after year. Despite this, when Ferguson has played he has looked strong and very powerful most notably coming off the bench during Alabama’s game vs USF where he made an immediate impact by helping open holes for the Tide’s rushing attack which totalled 203 yards that day.

Ferguson bounced around a few different spots while playing For Alabama getting most of his reps at guard and center. Ferguson is big and very powerful. He can move guys out of the way and create large holes that both the RB room and Dj Uiagalelei will be able to use to their advantage.

Ferguson will be a huge piece on the FSU O-Line in 2024 as we mentioned earlier despite not playing much when he did get time he looked like a complete lineman. He specializes at opening holes for the run game and is good at pass blocking.

It doesn’t matter where Ferguson is placed in the line he will be a potential game changer and a guy that if developed correctly before the season will be a guy that the coaches can keep on the field in nearly any kind of situation. His knowledge of playing multiple positions will also allow him to fill in for either if needed.

With Nick Saban leaving it is no doubt that many Alabama players are thinking deeply about their future and the other opportunities they may have. Due to that after already landing 3 Alabama transfers it is expected that Florida State will be linked to any who decide to enter the portal. Maybe the current players who went from Alabama to Florida State could play a part in recruiting their former teammates.
