FSU gets their 4th straight win with a victory over Notre Dame

Tonight, the Florida State Men’s basketball team took the victory over ACC foe Notre Dame 67-58. It was a back and fourth game until the end. Don’t look now, but with this win, they are on a 4 game win streak. Leonard Hamilton and the Noles have found something that seems to work well.

To open up the game for the Noles, De’Ante Green scored a layup assisted by Jalen Warley. For the first few minutes, it was close. 4 minutes in, Notre Dame led 8-7. No team seemed to be able to get a big lead.

Halfway through the 1st half, the score stood at 17-16, the Seminoles having the slightest of leads. It continued like this for the rest of the half. Right before half, Taylor Bol Bowen had an awesome layup at the buzzer. At the half, FSU led 33-29.

FSU came out of halftime with some juice, going on an 8-0 run to start the half. They were up 41-31 with 14:44 left. Just a few minutes later, they went on another run, getting up to their biggest lead of the day with 11:48 left. The score was 51-37.

Notre Dame was able to slowly claw back to keep it close toward the end. After a 3 pointer from Braeden Shrewsberry, the Fighting Irish got the score to 61-58 with only a minute left. They had an opportunity to steal the game from right under the Seminole’s noses.

FSU had other plans in mind though. They scored 6 straight points in the last minute to ice the game and get their 10th win of the season.

Primo Spears led the team in points scored with 13. Jamir Watkins was right behind him, scoring 12. Baba Miller led the team with 9 rebounds. FSU shot 39% FGs and 28% 3s as a whole. The Noles led for 83 percent of the game, only trailing for 4 minutes.

10-6 FSU now goes down south to face the 12-4 Hurricanes on Wednesday night. It will be a good challenge for the hot streaked Noles. Catch that game at 7:00 PM ET on ACCN.
