FSU Baseball is Officially Back: Advances to 18th Super Regional In School History
The Noles are back to where they belong. After a 12-4 win over UCF in the Tallahassee Regional Finals, FSU clinched their ticket to the Super Regionals where they will host upset seeking UConn. It is going to be FSU’s 18th appearance in the Super Regional, the most out of any school since the first iteration back in 1999.
The Noles are 45-15 on the year and started off with an astounding 19-0 record creating a lot of buzz on social media and in the baseball sphere. With second year head coach Link Jarrett, they have rebuilt from the disastrous period from 2020-2023. Link Jarrett was a 2 time back to back national coach of the year at Notre Dame in 2021 and 2022. He was hired in 2022 in hopes of bringing FSU back to the big stage and it seems as though he has succeeded.
FSU is hosting Uconn in a 3 game series from June 7th to the 9th if necessary. Uconn upset #9 ranked OU in a game that wasn’t even close. Uconn was ranked #3 in the regional tournament.
In the first 5 minutes of tickets being on sale, the games were sold out. The hype around this program can be felt in Tallahassee.
FSU has played Uconn once before in 1957 where the Huskies beat them 5-3.
