Breaking: Florida State Lands Former Colorado State Defensive Lineman Grady Kelly

Florida State has just landed former Colorado State redshirt sophomore defensive lineman Grady Kelly. Kelly committed to FSU by announcing to media presence outside while concluding his visit.

This is huge news for the Noles as the defensive line is due for an overhaul after the Noles lost several to the NFL draft such as Jared Verse, Fabian Lovett, and others who are expected to declare such as Braden Fiske, and a handful who entered the transfer portal. Due to this, FSU needed to put a large emphasis on rebuilding a previously elite defensive line.

Coming out of high school 247 Sports rated Kelly as a 3-star prospect and similarly as a three-star prospect in their transfer portal rankings. In the 2023 season Grady Kelly who stands at 6’2” and weighs 285 had 10 solo tackles and 1.5 sacks.

While those numbers don’t pop off the chart Grady Kelly will have the opportunity to bring an experienced presence to the defensive line core and form a connection with FSU star edge rusher and newly acquired defensive end Marvin Jones Jr. Grady Kelly brings experience and provides solid play in the interior defensive.

It will be interesting to watch his development during the offseason and how exactly the Seminoles will fit him in the rotation. Additionally, the Seminoles are still looking to add to the defensive line in what has been a busy weekend for visits, especially on the defensive line and even a few commitments in which the Seminoles have landed three in the last 24 hours and 2 being former SEC talent.
