Breaking: 4-Star Defensive-Back Earl Little Jr Commits To FSU
Florida State landed a commitment from Alabama defensive back transfer Earl Little II. He announced his decision to enter the portal on January 3rd after the Crimson Tides loss to Michigan in the Rose Bowl. In the end, he chose to come to Tallahassee and try to bring the Noles back to the playoffs. Hopefully, he will be the turning point in the portal and give us some momentum in recruiting.
He was the former 4-star and #84 recruit in the 2022 recruiting cycle who chose the Noles over teams such as Ole Miss.
He will be joining a good defensive back room with Azareye’h Thomas and Fentrell Cypress. He will be a big piece of trying to rebuild your defensive backroom after losing Jarrian Jones and Akeem Dent to the draft. Earl Little II will play a big part in solidifying FSU’s defensive backroom for the 2024 season.
The redshirt freshman will have 3 years of eligibility remaining with the Noles. Hopefully, he will come in and show great signs of development. If he can show great development he would be a star for the Seminoles over the next two to three years. He has all the physical abilities to be a next-level defensive back.
This past weekend in the Rose Bowl Earl Little II had 2 total tackles. As a recruit, he was given shades of pro-bowl safety Tyrann Mathieu with his versatile ability. Little has shown great upside of playing in the slot outside corner and even safety.
He will be the Noles 4th new addition to the 2024 transfer portal. He is still considered a 4-star on on3, on3 industry, 247, ESPN, and rivals.
Little should have a bright future in Tallahassee after meeting back up with Patrick Surtain. Surtian has shown great signs of being able to develop defensive backs. Now he has another talented defensive back. It should be interesting to see how big of an impact he has this upcoming year, and how he develops with this coaching staff.
