BREAKING: FSU lands OL Richie Leonard IV from UF
Mike Norvell adds yet another veteran player from the transfer portal in offensive guard Richie Leonard. He started in all 12 games for Florida, playing a major role in their O-Line.
Standing at 6’3 and 310 pounds, Leonard is an absolute unit in the trenches. He was an integral part of Florida’s offensive line for the past two seasons and has a lot of experience. He played in 23 games for the Gators, starting in every game last year. He played a team high 755 snaps for them.
Coming out of high school, he was a 3 star recruit from Cocoa, Florida. Leonard was ranked as the 64th best guard in the nation at the time according to 247 sports. He was named the offensive lineman MVP of the Opening Orlando in 2019 and was a multi sport athlete, playing baseball in High School. He committed to Florida in 2018 and enrolled in 2019.
He has one year of eligibility left as a graduate transfer. He joins Terrence Ferguson from Alabama as the second OL picked up from the portal. Alex Atkins and crew will hope to pair them in the interior part of the line. He is the 12th player added in total from the portal.
Norvell continues to do what he is best at which is getting veteran players that have a lot of experience. The early transfer window is coming to a close, so it will probably be the last of the transfers in the early window.
